Burnham Point State Park

Burnham Point State Park is small and quiet with lightly-wooded campsites, ideal for boating, fishing and relaxing. Boaters can explore local towns, islands and historic sites for miles up and down the scenic river. Popular game fish include bass, pike, muskellunge and walleye. In addition to tent and trailer campsites, the park has boat docks, a playground and picnic areas.

Canoe Picnic Point State Park

Canoe-Picnic Point State Park is only reachable by boat, offering a quiet camping experience in a wooded area with plenty of dock space available. Just south of the camping area is Picnic Point, a picnic ground with a beautiful picnic gazebo, shore dinner cooking facility and dockage. The fishing is excellent.

Cedar Island State Park

Cedar Island State Park takes up half of the island. The park is favored by people who appreciate quiet boating, fishing and beautiful scenery. The park's campsites are lightly-wooded, with a day-use area and picnic pavilion nearby.

Cedar Point State Park

Cedar Point State Park, one of the oldest state parks in New York, is a popular spot, offering excellent camping, fishing, boating and swimming. The beach is sheltered and sandy, there are docks for boats, a fishing pier and picnic grounds. From the overlook area, visitors can watch ocean-going freighters pass by.

Coles Creek State Park

Coles Creek State Park has wooded and open campsites near a swimming beach on Lake St. Lawrence. The lake is ideal for boating and fishing as well. A marina on the mouth of Coles Creek lies just north of the park entrance. The park also has a playground, playing fields and a large pavilion.

Cumberland Bay State Park

Cumberland Bay State Park, on the west shore of Lake Champlain, is a very popular day-use area because of its large natural sand beach and picnic grounds with tables and grills. The park has 152 campsites, a playground and playing fields. Cross-country runners frequent the park in the fall.

DeWolf Point State Park

Dewolf Point State Park has a cabin colony, camping area, stone gazebo and dockage for boats on the Lake of the Isles in the St. Lawrence River. Fishermen and nature lovers appreciate this small park's rustic beauty.

Eel Weir State Park

Eel Weir State Park is located on the Oswegatchie River two miles from Black Lake. Both waterways are known for excellent bass fishing and are ideal for canoes or rowboats. As it is small and secluded, the park is a perfect place to get away from it all. Thirty-eight campsites are available, as are a picnic area and pavilion.

Grass Point State Park

Grass Point State Park is on a point of land that projects into the American Channel of the St. Lawrence River, known for some of the best fishing in the country. The park is a popular spot for campers and day-users, who come to boat, swim, fish, picnic, or just to relax. There is a marina and boat launch, an area is available for games, and the sandy beach and shallow water are excellent for children.

Higley Flow State Park

Higley Flow State Park is nestled among the Adirondack foothills on the picturesque Raquette River. Spacious campsites, separated from neighbors by pine trees, abound in the park. The terrain is hilly and heavily-wooded and there is a sandy beach on the reservoir of the Raquette River. The scenic river is ideal for canoeing and fishing.

Jacques Cartier State Park

Jacques Cartier State Park has a sheltered bay protecting the sandy swimming beach and campers dock. The two biggest draws for the park are unlimited boating opportunities and excellent fishing. The park's large open lawns encourage games and picnics; a playground and another picnic ground, this one forested, are nearby. In winter, cross-country skiing is permitted in the park.

Keewaydin State Park

Keewaydin State Park is on the St. Lawrence River, offering excellent boating, fishing and, during the winter, ice fishing and cross-country skiing. The sheltered marina provides dock space for seasonal and transient visitors. Overlooking the river are 48 campsites.

Kring Point State Park

Kring Point State Park is a narrow peninsula whose south shore faces Goose Bay and north shore faces the St. Lawrence River. Standing anywhere in the park, visitors see water and many of the 1700 islands for which the region is named. Half of the 100 campsites are on the waterfront and virtually every cabin and campsite has a river or bay view.

Long Point State Park

Long Point State Park is in a remote area, offering a peaceful, relaxing camping experience. Situated on a peninsula facing Chaumont Bay on Lake Ontario, the park is small and almost completely surrounded by water with great views from anywhere in the park. Campsites are fairly open and grass-covered with scattered trees, a playground and picnic areas.

Macomb Reservation State Park

Macomb Reservation State Park lies just outside the Adirondack Park along the Salmon River's course toward Lake Champlain. Surrounded by state land, the park has a wilderness atmosphere. Visitors can swim in man-made Davis Pond, use non-motorized boats and fish in the pond or the Salmon River.

Mary Island State Park

Mary Island State Park comprises 12 heavily-wooded acres with steep rocky outcroppings. Twelve waterfront campsites are scattered throughout the park, offering seclusion and spectacular views of the Canadian shore or the shipping channel. Boats may be beached or moored near campsites. The park has a picnic area and several foot trails.

Robert Moses State Park

Robert Moses State Park has about five miles of ocean beach from which visitors can swim, surf or surf-fish. Anglers can also fish from piers. A day-use boat basin can accommodate 40 boats. The park also has picnic areas and an 18-hole pitch & putt golf course.

Southwick Beach State Park

Southwick Beach State Park is spacious and popular, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long sandy beach. Campers and day-users enjoy picnicking, hiking and games on the playing fields. The park is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, home to the environmentally-sensitive coastal sand dunes.

Wellesley Island State Park

Wellesley Island State Park has the largest camping complex in the Thousand Islands region. Secluded wilderness sites nestled along the banks of the St. Lawrence River are accessible only by foot or boat. Within this rustic paradise, fishing is excellent--particularly for muskie in autumn. To accommodate boaters, the park has a full service marina and four boat launches.

Westcott Beach State Park

Westcott Beach State Park is a popular day-use and camping park on Lake Ontario, with rolling, wooded hills and open, grassy meadows sheltered by Henderson Bay. It offers restful campsites located on a bluff, from which the view is spectacular. A small marina is adjacent to the long, sandy beach to accommodate anglers interested in Lake Ontario's excellent black bass fishing.

Whetstone Gulf State Park

Whetstone Gulf State Park is built in and around a three-mile-long gorge cut into the eastern edge of the Tug Hill Plateau. The gorge is one of the most spectacular scenic vistas east of the Rocky Mountains. The park has 56 wooded campsites some of which are electric, a scenic picnic area along Whetstone Creek, a man-made swimming area and trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, one of which circles the gorge.
