Greater Niagara Fishing Forecast for Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014
Oct 15, 2014 - As far as the salmon run in the tributaries, there’s been some improvement over last week. A modest increase was realized in 18 Mile Creek and other tribs are starting to see some more fish with the influx of fall weather. The best fishing has been for brown trout at Burt Dam with a few salmon and steelhead mixed in.

Aug 6, 2014 - This has not been a normal season on Lake Ontario. We had the coldest winter on record. We had the most ice we’ve ever seen. We’ve had drastically changing winds. We’ve had unstable conditions. And, the water has been much cooler than it normally is all spring and summer. For some reason the numbers of salmon we’ve been accustomed to seeing aren’t here right now.

Apr 17, 2014 - Shoreline trollers in the lake are picking up browns and Coho salmon with regularity, using stickbaits to attract these feisty fish to hit. Dennis Hoffman of North Tonawanda reported good success on Cohos usually any silver colored Rapala stickbait long lined or fished off boards in 8-10 feet of water. Steelhead were in 8 to 20 feet of water in front of Four Mile Creek.
