Harriman State Park

Harriman State Park, located in Rockland and Orange counties, is the second-largest park in the parks system, with 31 lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, three beaches, two public camping areas, a network of group camps, miles of streams and scenic roads, and scores of wildlife species, vistas and vantage points. Harriman State Park's major facilities include Lakes Welch, Sebago, Tiorati and Silvermine, the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Sebago Cabins and Beaver Pond Campgrounds.

Clarence Fahnestock State Park

Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park is a delight for outdoor enthusiasts. This 14,086 acre park, covering land in Putnam and Dutchess counties, boasts hiking trails, a beautiful beach, picnic areas, scenic campground, and abundant opportunities for boating, hunting, fishing, and birding. The park is also home to the Taconic Outdoor Education Center which provides high quality environmental programming and Fahnestock Winter Park which includes 15 kilometers of groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing, and an area for sledding.

Lake Taghkanic State Park

Lake Taghkanic State Park, nestled next to Lake Taghkanic in the rolling hills and lush forests of Columbia County, offers a wonderful variety of recreational activities. The park has tent and trailer campsites and cabin and cottage camping facilities. Large trucks, RVs and campers can enter from the Route 82 entrance. It also features two beaches, picnic areas, boat launch sites, rowboat, paddleboat and kayak rentals, playgrounds, sports playing fields, a rentable pavilion, and newly renovated recreation hall and showers.

Mills-Norrie State Park

Ogden Mills and Ruth Livingston Mills Memorial State Park adjoins Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park and together, comprise more than one thousand acres. Mills Memorial State Park is the home of Dinsmore Golf Course and Staatsburgh State Historic Site. The numerous trails that thread through the grounds of both Mills and Norrie State Parks are ideal for walking, jogging, hiking, cycling, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing - treating visitors to fabulous views of the Hudson River which runs directly along the parks' western boundaries.

Taconic State Park - Copake Falls Area

The extensive campground at Copake Falls has sites to accommodate campers seeking a more rustic experience, as well as those seeking a more "home like" experience. There are 46 tent, 24 tent platform, and 36 trailer sites and three cabin areas. The trailer sites allow trailers up to 30 feet in length, but do not offer hook up facilities. Centrally located restroom and shower facilities are located in all campsite areas.

Taconic State Park - Rudd Pond Area

Rudd Pond has 15 tent and 26 tent platform sites, each providing campers with grand views of the ridge, pond, and nearby countryside. Each campsite has a picnic table and a camp fire ring and grill. Comfort stations and a hot water shower house are conveniently located in the campground.

Beaverkill State Park

Beaverkill Campground is located on the Beaverkill trout fishing stream, which flows through the entire developed length of the site. An historic covered bridge, constructed in 1865, spans the stream on the town road. There is a deep pool in the stream adjacent to and underneath this covered bridge, creating a unique and picturesque setting. The development area lies along the stream, with camping sites on the north side and picnicking area on the south side.

Devil's Tombstone State Park

Devil's Tombstone is one of the oldest campgrounds in the Catskill Forest Preserve, offering mysteries of the Devil's Tombstone and a haven for primitive camping. The campground is an ideal base camp for serious hikers with trails leading to some of the highest peaks, such as Hunter with the highest historic fire tower in New York State, Indian Head and West Kill Range. Children will enjoy the playground and participating in the Junior Naturalist Program.

Kenneth L. Wilson State Park

Completely surrounded by beautiful mountains with panoramic views creating a picturesque setting, Kenneth L. Wilson Campground is located in north central Ulster County, 5 miles northwest of the village of Woodstock. The campsites are secluded, large, and wooded.

Little Pond State Park

Little Pond is a quiet picturesque campground located in the Catskill Forest Preserve which offers a leisurely hiking trail around a 13-acre pond, and the opportunity to venture along trails leading to the ruins of an old farm or enjoy breathtaking views atop the Touchmenot Mountains. The campgrounds, beach, boat rental, and Junior Naturalist Program offers fun for all ages; and for the primitive camper, we offer remote sites on the back side of the pond.

Mongaup Pond State Park

Mongaup Pond is located in north eastern Sullivan County. It is situated on a 120 acre lake, the largest body of water in the Catskill Park outside of the N.Y.C. reservoirs. The dense forest environment, remote location, large wooded campsites, and a lake with swimming, picnic area, and boat rentals are the attractions for most campers.

North-South Lake State Park

North-South Lake is the biggest and most popular state campground in the Catskill Forest Preserve, offering extraordinary scenic beauty, and historical sites, such as: Alligator Rock, Kaaterskill Falls, and the former site of the Catskill Mountain House. An abrupt change in elevation occurs from about 540 feet above sea level at the base of the escarpment to approximately 2,250 feet at the site of the former Catskill Mountain House.

Woodland Valley State Park

Nestled at the foot of Slide Mountain, the tallest peak in the Catskills, and surrounded by Panther, Cornell, and Wittenberg Mountains is Woodland Valley Campground. The campground offers 72 tent and trailer sites, a picnic area with tables and grills, flush toilets, hot showers, a trailer dump station and a recycling center. Woodland Valley Campground serves as the trailhead for both Slide-Wittenberg Trail and Valley-Denning Trail.
